No matter how you look at it, there’s no doubt that Kenya is one of the most beautiful countries on earth, so it should come as no surprise that some of the finest African holidays are available right here at home.
We decided to visit Kifaru House, which is like taking a plunge into the timeless tranquillity of Africa. Located within the famous Lewa Conservancy, which is home to East Africa’s healthiest black and white rhino populations. Registered as a rhino conservancy in 1983, the conservancy is famous for its successful rhino and Grevy zebra breeding, two endangered species; Lewa is home to 10% of Kenya’s rhino, and 20% of the world’s population of Grevy zebra, employing over 150 rangers.
Kifaru is the swahili word for “Rhino”, so you are bound to find a plentiful population of rhinos. On our morning and evening game drives we got to see plenty of game ranging from Giraffes, zebras, buffalos and elephants. It’s more of a conservation area and staying at Kifaru helps to support what they do especially supporting schooling for local children, whom we had a chance to visit during our stay.
Kifaru House is a haven of luxury in the bush which takes the form of luxury lodges with big, comfortable beds and attractive traditional furniture, all arranged around a spacious communal building with a restaurant, a bar and lots of comfortable seats to lounge around in. There’s a swimming pool where you can relax after an adventurous day. It’s a wonderful place to indulge your senses and enjoy this country at its very best. You can also enjoy breakfast at the terrace and watch the busy goings-on at the waterhole below.
Kifaru house is a must visit, especially if you love conservation, and we can make your dream a reality by planning the perfect vacation for you. Send us an email on firstname.lastname@example.org
