Ha Long Bay – Vietnam’s Breathtaking Natural Wonder

When I was planning my trip to Vietnam, Ha Long Bay kept popping up quite a lot, and usually this is where my explorer instincts always kick in. It is that place that usually offers something for everyone whether you want a relaxing trip or prefer the occasional adrenaline rush and exciting outdoor activities.

There’s a bunch of things to see on the island itself such as the national park which covers most of the island and some interesting remnants of the Vietnam War, but we chose to enjoy the pristine nature, untouched jungle and beautiful beaches that Ha Long Bay had to offer.

The best way to explore Ha Long Bay is via cruise ships, often called junk boats. We started out at Cat Ba, which is the largest area. The wonderful and rather quiet Lan Ha Bay can also be reached from Cat Ba, so if you have some extra time, this is something you should add to your itinerary.

Hundreds of limestone islands emerge out of the greenish – blue waters casting their shadows on the still waters and blending into an endless stretch of dark mountains at night. It’s truly something everyone must see.

Regardless of how many times you have kayaked before, kayaking at Halong Bay is an unforgettable experience. The water is so calm and the way the sun sparkles over it as it sets makes it a paradise.  Nature at its absolute best.

We went to Ha Long Bay looking for spectacular, and spectacular is exactly what we got. The changing colors of the sky, the perfectly round, bright orange sun dipping behind the darkening islands – you don’t get to witness a magnificent display like this on a day trip!

There are countless caves scattered throughout Halong Bay, but only a few are accessible to tourists. None of the caves are particularly large, but some of them are quite beautiful. You can experience this and more when you book your Vietnam trip with us. Email us on info@holidaybazaar.com.
